Dit is de zomer 

Dat zijn de paden 

Grijs van de hitte 

Grijs van het stof 

Dit is de stilte 

Dat is de wouw 

Hoog aan de hemel 

Hoog boven het land 

De zon is grijs van de hemel 

De hemel is grijs van zichzelf 

In het hoge riet schuilt de zwaan.

This is the summer 

These are the paths 

Grey for the heat 

Grey for the dust 

This is the stillness 

That is the red kite 

High in the sky 

High over the land 

The sun is grey in the sky 

The sky is grey of itself 

In the high reeds hides the swan.
